TV is a bust these days...but, there are always documentaries, biographies, old movies (thought I've seen my favorites too often)and sometimes a new movie.
"Cops" is interesting, but the formulaic toothless druggie/alcoholic domestic violence take downs have become predictable. Check out "Tru TV: Not Actuality, but Reality." Especially the "Most Shocking" and "Speeders" segments. All it needs for surreality would be Bill Moyer as narrator....
Jerry. No, seriously, I taped it and watched it. It makes me feel so much better. Like I'm normal. Or if not normal, then at least not running in the streets with a cop and his tazer behind me.
My favorite cop show was Adam-12; that show was on TV when you were about 3 Candy. It was pedestrian by today's standards--violence was hitting someone. It was not graphic.
But, you could attain a moral serenity when you watched it. The bad were redeemable--they sometimes had good reasons for straying from the path of good.
Today's criminals are usually portrayed as psychopathic, consciousless animals who are capable of any crime--no matter how horrendous. Doah!!! I got confused and starting talking about politicians.
Our worst criminals merely rob us of our material goods and harm our bodies; our politicians rob us of our spirit, identity, our belief in ourselves and our national dignity.
You know...kind of the same thing as buying a used car only the salesman lives in the white house.
Oh please! Give me the Jerry Springer Marathon over the Thanksgiving Holidays anytime! Or is that to close to home. Being right next to Indiana. Love those Wedding videos on YouTube! Ha!!!!
don't try to coax me out of it. With no real 'Rescue Me' this summer, TV EVEN WITH MICHAEL PHELPS was not and will never be the same. 'Rescue Me'. firemen. nyc. mmmmmm.mmmmm.
I second that. Rescue me ROCKS! Dennis Leary has never looked or sounded better. It's his comedic prime. lol. yeah, I like him a lot. Let's not forget Dexter, though, the best show ever made... = ]
I've never seen "Dexter" either! Is that the one about the serial killer?
My sister-in-law says "Prison Break" is the best show ever made. Haven't seen that either.
You're both wrong. "The Bold and the Beautiful" is the best show ever. Award winning acting. Also, everyone gets pregnant the first time they have sex.
