Eight more days of freedom and then the wretched semester starts. Today I half-glanced at my syllabi and tried to face the music.

May I just say, Candy, that your reasonable work pace makes me feel better about the world in general? Every year, without fail, I see friends start posting IN JUNE about working on syllabi, and I'm like, "Do they really need two months to work on this stuff? Am I doing it wrong?"
