What a Friendly Looking Creature

The desert is so very delightful all by itself during the summertime, that I could hardly believe it could also contain a little gem like this one to sweeten the deal.

You have to look closely at the sign to see that this charming creature is called a "Creeping Devil." What could be better than a giant green snake "as big as your arm" as my mom says, unless it's covered with sharp needles? Oh, wait! How about if it splits and becomes two creeping devils?
